Hello My Big Figgers :) Recently I have moved away from my parents' house. Even though it was not as painful as people has made it sound, I am going to share some moving-away tips for ya. I moved in to an apartment so I will write about that. Pick apartment in a quiet area if you're a student and need calm environment. Good way to rate an area is by spending some time hanging around it. One thing that annoys me, personally, is a barking dog, especially a high pitch barking dog. Save money- have at least two months rent saved up and extra money for deposits and such. Your bills for the first month will be higher than usual because of deposits for new accounts. There are deposits for the electric and gas companies. It’s up to you if you want to get cable or some other services, they might charge an initiation fee as well. Before you sign the contract make sure to check all faucets that might make noise and watch out for doors that might not lock There are other things to watch out for such as holes in walls (you'll get charged for them when you move out), make sure to let your landlord know of any damages before you move in.These are just some of the things I've noticed to be important but you should always keep your eyes open :) Your, Labels: apartment, apartment hunting, moving away tips |
